With the recently updated data on the milk supply from New Zealand, the milk supply figures for the whole year are complete. This makes it clear how New Zealand's 2024 performed compared to previous years. There is a slight increase, as shown by figures from the New Zealand DCANZ.
With 2,649,000 tons of milk in December 2024, New Zealand's supply is above the level of December 2023. A year-on-year increase of 1.4%. It is noteworthy that the monthly milk supply figures from July 2024 onwards were consistently higher than the previous year. In the first half of 2024, the milk supply mostly performed less well than in the same period in 2023.
The second half of the year has resulted in the total milk supply in 2024 being 1.3% higher than in 2023. This puts the milk supply in 2024 at 21,531,000 tons. This is also more than the supply in 2022, but still well below the levels of 2020 and 2021.
