Arla increases milk price for August by over 80 cents

August 1, 2024 - Klaas van der Horst

Dairy producer Arla increases the advance milk price for August by over 80 cents per 100 kilos, which is less than the increase announced earlier by FrieslandCampina for August.

According to Arla itself, the standard milk price for the Netherlands now amounts to €47.31 per 100 kilos, compared to €46.45 last month. In Belgium, the milk price for August is €47.34 per 100 liters, compared to €46.52 last month.

According to our calcalation, the difference is slightly different, and the price in the Netherlands increases by 54 cents to €46.47 per 100 kilos.

The organic milk price for the Netherlands and Belgium increases by 40 cents per kilo and 31 cents per 100 liters, respectively.

Market space
Arthur Fearnall, chairman of the British Arla farmers, explains that the majority of markets are relatively stable now, but retail sales still seem to be increasing slightly. This provides some space in the market.
