The Netherlands deviates significantly in Potato Index

Monday 12:59 pm - Jurphaas Lugtenburg

The spread between the different contributing countries in the EU-4 Potato Index remains very wide. France and Belgium are at the bottom of the spectrum while the Netherlands stands out at the top.

In a market that is in motion, noters always run the risk that the price they put on the board at the time of publication deviates from what is actually being paid at that moment. This seems to be the case with the Dutch quotation now. Both at the bottom and at the top, PotatoNL is on the high side with €20 to €32 for the fries suitable potatoes. The bottom for Fontane is €17.50 for the other EU-4. The difference is even greater with Innovator. Reka put €25 on the board while the Dutch quotation still exceeded €30.

Partly due to the relatively high contribution from the Netherlands, the DCA EU-4 Potato Index stands at €20.53 per 100 kilos. France has surpassed Belgium as the bottom of the range this week. The difference between the highest and lowest contribution has slightly decreased from €11.50 last week to €9.88.
