Just like at the pig market, the market situation for piglets is not very attractive. Therefore, prices continue to move sideways.
There are enough piglets in relation to the demand, which insiders also describe as moderate. A few traders mention that exports to Spain are slightly increasing in numbers. However, this does not result in higher prices for now.
That's basically the story on the piglet market. We are looking at an unchanged market situation, which is likely to continue in the coming weeks. In other years, the seasonal upturn sometimes started around this time of year, but it doesn't seem likely in the short term.
The DCA BestPigletPrice remains at €49 per piglet. In Germany, piglet prices also remain stable at €59 per piglet.
