The Brazilian poultry meat export increased by almost a quarter in November. The success is largely due to the recovery of exports to China, but the stronger exports to Mexico also contributed to the result. All production regions benefited from the result.
In November, Brazilian poultry meat exports increased by 23.2% to 465,100 tons. Last year, the country exported 337,400 tons of chicken meat in the same period. The value of the export increased even more, by a whopping 32.1%. The total value of the export reached $893.3 million. The previous year, the total value in that month was $676.1 million.
In the first eleven months of the year, the total poultry meat export reached 4.85 million tons. This is an increase of 3.7% compared to the 4.67 million tons exported by the country the previous year. The value of the export in the first eleven months was over $9.07 billion. This is an increase of roughly 1% compared to the value of $8.97 billion from the previous year.
Export to China back on track
In November, China was the largest importer of Brazilian chicken meat. The total export volume to the country reached 46,300 tons, an increase of 17% compared to the previous year. This marks the second consecutive month of recovery in exports to the Asian country. Until September, exports to the country lagged significantly, but the trend reversed last month. In October, Brazil once again exported 30.4% more poultry meat to the country.
The second largest export market turned out to be China's neighbor, Japan. The country's imports increased by 7.3% to 34,800 tons. The export to the United Arab Emirates also rose significantly. The total export to the country increased by 6.4% to 34,200 tons. However, exports to Saudi Arabia decreased by 6.3% to 28,800 tons. Additionally, a notable increase in exports to Mexico is observed. The growth in exports to that country is the highest, almost doubling. The export to the country increased by a whopping 99.8% to 33,700 tons.
All regions benefit
All major production regions benefited from the improved exports. The larger exports particularly benefited the largest production region, Paraná. The total export increased by 26% to 182,100 tons. Meanwhile, the export from Santa Catarina increased by 15.2% to 105,200 tons. The export from Rio Grande do Sul reached 65,100 tons, an increase of 16.5%.
