Consolidation round for the DCA EU-4 Potato Index

Monday 11:50 am - Jurphaas Lugtenburg

From a turnaround in the potato market is not yet evident at the beginning of 2025. In fact, the DCA EU-4 Potato Index started week 1 at exactly the same level as where week 52 ended. This is in line with the European prices. Only our eastern neighbors stand out.

Admittedly, last week was not the busiest in the potato trade, partly due to the New Year. The Belgapom from Belgium and RNM from France kept Fontane stable at €20. More action was seen in Germany where Reka showed a slight increase of €1 across the board. Fontane is now at €21 in Germany, Agria at €27, and Innovator at €31.

There is still no Dutch contribution to the potato index. But that will change this week. After sitting without an official Dutch potato quotation for six months, a price will be added to the board at PotatoNL this week. It will be interesting to see which direction PotatoNL takes. Will the Netherlands lean more towards Belgium or Germany?
